Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time. For almost 2 decades he has dominated the NFL, but he is 40 now (41 by next season) so it brings up the question, when will Tom Brady retire?
This season Tom Brady got sacked 35 times! Not even including times he got hit. Young quarterbacks could barely play an entire year being hit as much as he has, and “Tom Terrific” is 40. Also, his offensive line is really inexperienced, and it showed this season. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots play 5 out of the top 10 defenses next year. Also the Pats play the Texans who will have future hall of famer JJ Watt, and one of the best defensive players Jadeveon Clowney.
Tom Brady himself said that he wants to play until he is 45. Also, in his Facebook documentary, Tom vs Time, he said “Two more Super Bowls. Two more,” the episode was filmed before Super Bowl LII, so he means one more Super Bowl. But that can mean anything, we don’t know the next time he will make a Super Bowl, it could be next year, next 6 years. But we know Tom Brady probably isn’t going anywhere for at least the next couple years. Tom Brady is a man of his word. In 2000 when he was the 199th draft pick he said, “I'm the best decision this organization has ever made.” He was definitely right about that one. Also, he knows himself best which means he will play for as long as he feels.
In conclusion, there is no exact year Tom Brady is going to retire, but we do know it is going to be in less than 5 years, the next time he makes a Super Bowl, don’t count out the idea of retirement. Finally, based on the Patriots tuff schedule and Tom Brady’s quote, my guess is two more years. But, how many years do you think Brady has left in him?
