Is Technology Consuming Our Classrooms?
Technology is consuming our classroom. Most schools in the Unites States have 7-hour days, and if students are using technology for almost all classes. Therefore, they are using technology for a majority of the school day. In addition, doctors say, “Kids should only have 2-3 hours of screen time a day.” Is having this advancement in technology for the classroom bad? Many K-12 schools today are abusing technology.
Are These Computers Really worth the Money?
To be honest the school is wasting money on computers for students who do not need computers skills yet. Not to mention that K-1 kids should not have to know computer skills, but they should instead start learning in grades 2-12. In addition, schools most likely are wasting more money to get computers fixed because k-1 kids are not entirely responsible. Therefore, computers might brake due to something the student did to the computer.
Are Some Schools Better Than Others For Having This Advancement?
You cannot think that one school is better than another school just because they have computers. You could think it is maybe better than another way to teach the class, but is it really. In addition, do you really know what goes on behind the screen your students? That student could be using a writing software typing on the document but he also could just be playing a game. Therefore, how would you ever know that the student was playing a game?
Is It Fair That Not All Schools Have This Advancement?
The schools that have this advancement in technology have more problems than the average school that does not use technology. It is a lot easier to do on paper on a sheet of paper then have to learn computer skills and how to use a software in order to do the sheet. In addition, even though organization on the computers are easier to manage it is not the easiest to manage tech issues. Finally, these damages on the computers that can cost either a little money to a lot of money.
