In the future, humans are supposed to get to Mars and the Rovers that have been to the red planet have helped humans with accomplishing this. The rovers are the first invention that has come from Earth and has made it to Mars so the rovers are very important.
Rovers land on Mars and when they explore the red planet, they send back information to Earth. "These future possibilities are exciting, but unmanned spacecraft have already greatly enhanced our knowledge of Mars", this quote from national geographic is saying that the rovers have given humans a lot of information. Dozens of spacecraft have been sent to Mars but only about one out of three actually make it there and land without breaking somewhere. If one part of it breaks it may not work, for example, it might not be able to transmit data back to earth. The Mars pathfinder launched in 1996 and it proved that rovers or other spacecraft's could indeed land on Mars and they could still work. This rover gave humans an amazing amount of scientific information about the red planet. Rovers are quite amazing but living on Mars sometime in the future, that would just be astonishing.
NASA's current mission to send a human to Mars is mainly pushed and looked at by the Orion crew exploration vehicle. The spacecraft is being designed to take humans back to the moon by 2020. In a while and after many modifications of this spacecraft, it may take the first humans to Mars. This shows that people are working on getting humans to mars but it will take time and it will also take mistakes and tests that did not work. Last of all will take accomplishments, for example, we will have to land on the moon again before we can land on Mars. Barack Obama predicted that humans would be on Mars or at least launched towards by mid-2030's. Hopefully this will be true and humans will be on Mars in about 17 years. Astronauts are learning about what it takes to live and work in space for long periods of time, increasing our understanding of how the body changes in space and how to protect astronaut health. Before humans can live on Mars people will need to know how the body is different on mars and how humans would survive with a limited amount of oxygen. Obviously, it will be a long time before this can happen but if anyone can do it, it is the scientists that are working on it. If this is true, we will know sometime soon.
In the near future humans are going to Mars and Rovers that send information back to Earth from the red planet have helped humans with accomplishing this. The rovers have increased human’s knowledge of Mars by way more than expected, but if we were on the red planet we would know more about not just that planet but more about the whole universe. Would you be one of these astronauts to be the first on Mars or not?
